After that, the caterpillars proceed to the leaves of the pawpaw plant, which are small trees or shrubs with long, droopy leaves that produce an offensive, kerosene-like odor, when bruised. They feed on eggshells soon after hatching. So the ‘single egg per leaf’ system is to prevent cannibalism among the caterpillars. The caterpillars are voracious feeders, who may turn cannibalistic, if they encounter other caterpillars. For this reason, the adult females deposit eggs on the young leaves of pawpaw trees. The tender leaves of pawpaw trees form the staple diet of zebra swallowtail caterpillars. In short, these butterflies are seen in open woodlands near swamps and rivers, grasslands, savannas, and southern pine woods. The habitat of zebra swallowtails includes those regions where pawpaw trees grow abundantly. Such a butterfly, after emergence, may live up to six months in their natural habitat. Once they emerge, there is no growth stage for these butterflies and they will start reproducing. Some pupae spend the entire winter in hibernation, before emerging as butterflies. A period of around one month is required for the eggs to develop into zebra swallowtail butterflies. They also have a silk ring around their thorax. They hang with their heads upwards, binding to a stem or leaf with the tail. The pupa is usually green or brown in color, and is small and compact as compared to that of the other swallowtails. These caterpillars live and pupate underneath the leaves of pawpaw trees. The second type, which is rarely seen, is black with white and orange stripes. They have a band of three colors (yellow, black and bluish-white) between the thorax and the abdomen. The most common form is green with white and yellow horizontal stripes. There are two types of stripe patterns in older larvae, which are hairless. The larvae are black in color on hatching, but as they grow, stripes develop. The color of the eggs changes from light green to golden brown, after three to four days. After mating, the female butterflies lay spherical eggs on the leaves of the pawpaw trees. Male zebra swallowtail butterflies fly around the host plants (pawpaws) in search of females. It is the official state butterfly of Tennessee. The zebra swallowtail butterfly ( Protographium marcellus) is mainly found in the southeast parts of the United States and certain regions of Canada. In spring forms, the tails are small and black, with white tips, whereas summer forms have longer tails with a prominent white color. It has been observed that the spring forms are smaller and whiter when compared to the summer forms. There are two seasonal forms of zebra swallowtail butterflies – spring forms and summer forms (adult butterflies emerging from the pupa stage during spring or summer). The wingspan of these butterflies range between 7 to 11 centimeters. The margins of the hind wings are scalloped. Their hind wings may also have two blue markings at the base, and a red spot close to the body. This butterfly has tail-like extensions on its hind wings, and hence the name, swallowtail. As the name rightly suggests, the characteristic feature of a zebra swallowtail butterfly is the black and white stripes on its wings. ![]() ![]() ![]() Advantages of referring to Big Ideas Math Solution Key The initiative also endeavors to set consistent educational standards over the states as well as assure that students graduating from high school are prepared to enter credit-bearing courses at two or four-year college programs or to enter the workforce. (You don't necessarily have to answer this, I'm sure it's close enough in principle to demonstrate my concerns.). ![]() (I assume this doesn't help much in a brute-force offline attack, but it should help against active online attacks I would think.) DatabasePassword = SHA512(.SHA512(SHA512(SHA512(password + salt) + salt) + salt) + salt).) If the user logs in successfully then the salt is changed and a new password hash is created. Lastly, before I get to my actual questions, the passwords are all salted before stored in the database, then hashed with the SHA-512 algorithm 100 times, with the salt being appended between each hash. I suspect that five random words on a piece of paper (hopefully not in direct sight, but alas that's the most likely scenario) are less-likely to be picked up as a potential password than a, well, complex term that looks like a traditional password. Compared to a normal 6-character password ( (26+26+10+33)^6 or 7.35e+11 possibilities: 26 lower alpha, 26 upper alpha, 10 numbers, 33 symbols) it's significantly stronger.Īnother assumption I made: users will write this down, they always do. Is this still secure, can I get away with taking one word away from the generated password (that's still 21 characters, for 18^26 possibilities ( 4.33e+32) based on entropy alone), the only problem I see is that this isn't based on character entropy, but on word entropy, which would mean the 5-word password is 10000*9006*9005*9004*9003 possibilities, or 6.5e+19 possibilities, and the 4-word password is 10000*9006*9005*9004 possibilities, or 7.30e+15. We can also assume that the attacker has the dictionary, and the generation parameters/algorithm. There are 994 words in the database with 3 to 4 characters in length. Even if we assume that each of the 27 minimum non-space characters (so 23 characters in the end) can be 26 possible states ( a-z), that's 23^26 or 2.54e+35 possibilities. Now I don't want to make these one-time passwords, but I'm suspecting I should at least require the user to change it to something else upon logging in after using this generated password, which is fine and I can, but I also want users to have the option (on changing a password) to generate a 'secure' password that fits my requirements.įrom a cracking standpoint, how easy/difficult would it be to attack a password generated using this scheme? There's no fixed length, words in this database table range in length from 3 characters to 11 characters ( environment is a word in the database, for example)? The programme generating the passwords will not pick two words with 4 or fewer characters (so the shortest password could be one three-character word, 4 five-character words, and 4 spaces, for a total of 27 characters), and it will not use the same term twice in a password.īased on samples I've run against it, the average password length generated by the programme is ~34 characters, which seems acceptable to me. The question isn't about that aspect, but about generating: assuming I want to generate an easy-to-remember and hard-to-guess password for the user, is it cryptographically safe to generate a password based on 5 or so dictionary words from a 10k word list? (Literally 10k words sit in my database, scraped from various sources, emails, etc.) They're all pretty common words, no less than 3 characters in length. I have an application (multi-platform) that I want to generate somewhat secure passwords for, and my password requirements are much less demanding: if the password has no spaces I expect the 'multiple symbols, numbers, mixed alpha and 6+ characters', but if the password has more than one nonconsecutive space I'm relaxing the symbol/number/mixed case constraint, and instead require at least two words that are no less than 4 characters individually, with a minimum password length of 15 characters. #Set the script scope 'newPassword' variable, which is a randomised order of a random product name, special character, and number between 000 and 999 (or more digits if the random product name was too short). We should all know the XKCD comic on password strength, suggesting (appropriately) that a password based on multiple common words is more secure and memorable than a password such as Aw3s0m3s4u(3 or something. Here's what I've come up with function Get-RandomPass When I saw your code I just felt like playing with it a bit. ![]()

Though I have been diligent about my daily practice over the years, I’ve also had profound, meaningful, and transformative experiences in moments when I was drifting away from the actual meditation technique when I was exploring my own path. I have been meditating for over 20 years and I have explored many techniques-it was my personal inner experience during meditation that first encouraged me to learn about heart coherence. Our hearts can also entrain the hearts of other people around us-research illustrates our hearts actually respond and are connected to the oscillations of the earth frequencies. What does that mean? The heart is basically its own brain. Scientists have found that the signals the heart continuously sends to the brain actually influence the function of higher brain centers involved in perception, cognition, and emotional processing. When we cultivate appreciation and compassion, our heart rhythm actually becomes more consistent-which is linked to a greater sense of wellbeing. But what if we could train our hearts to be in coherence more often? What if we could entrain others in our journey to happiness just by being in a state of deep appreciation for life itself? ![]() We all seek different ways to live more at ease.
